Job Description
  • Manage all accounting operations
  • Produce timely monthly management accounts
  • Create management reports as required (variance analysis, project profitability, budgeting, forecasts etc.)
  • Payroll oversight (for staff in all country locations) and PSA/P11D reporting
  • VAT returns
  • Oversee and involvement with day-to-day bookkeeping and maintenance of ledgers.
  • Bank and currency revaluations, bank account management
  • Prepare and coordinate regulatory reporting, complying with reporting and tax filing requirements (including in our subsidiary companies)
  • Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g. bank, international subsidiary accountants, auditors, insurers) on a regular basis
  • Monitor, develop and manage business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Expenditure control
  • Audit compliance and management of yearly audit
  • Fixed Asset management
  • Line management (currently 1 assistant accountant)
  • Client contracts, purchase order and terms review
  • Foreign subsidiary finance, contracts and insurance interactions (some US accounting and tax experience preferable)
  • Staff benefit management and related HR functions (from a financial perspective).
  • Ability to manage special accounting projects including transfer pricing, foreign tax assessment and more, working with external experts.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • We are looking for applicants that have proven working experience as a Financial Controller or similar.
  • Degree in accounting and/or ACA/ACCA/CIMA accounting and financial qualification.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience creating financial statements, general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process.
  • Experience and knowledge of regulatory filings.
  • The applicant will have experience with Sage 50 Accounts Professional or similar accounting package and excellent Excel, IT and administration skills.
  • Experience managing staff - the applicant will mentor and aid in the career development of sub-ordinates, offer coaching where necessary and conduct yearly appraisal reviews
  • It would be beneficial to have some level of international financial experience and working with a group of companies with varying intercompany relationships.
