Job Description

You will focus on the delivery of monthly payroll, year-end including SSP/SMP, overtime, multiple pension schemes and ultimately take ownership of the payroll function whilst looking for areas of continuous improvement. Alongside this you will:

  • Process Monthly end to end payroll for 3 branches, circa 360 employees ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Challenge the systems and processes suggesting areas of improvement
  • Support the CFO with completion of month end and year end audit checks, ensuring adherence to relevant deadlines
  • Monitor and process SSP/SMP/SPP
  • Process a full range of payroll adjustments (and ‘acting up’)
  • Manage pension contributions and pension returns (including LGPS)
  • Keep auditable records of all payroll data, whilst ensuring the highest level of data protection compliance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience of owning a complex payroll process end-to-end
  • Beneficial to have previous exposure to multiple pension schemes within single organization
  • Evidence of leading and highlighting areas of process improvement
  • Good Excel skills and previous use of Sage Payroll, Excel and Access DB would be beneficial
  • CIPP/CIPD qualified or studying towards would be beneficial
