This is an exciting opportunity to become a Trainee Accountant for a dynamic and diverse Local Authority. We are looking for people who are passionate about finance, aware of the demands on Local Authorities and who are dedicated to their own learning and development.

The programme is designed to give you the experience, knowledge and understanding you need to be a future leader in the world of public finance. It provides a rich variety of training and exposure, with opportunities to contribute to all kinds of project initiatives and operational work that will be tailored to your development needs.

During your time on this programme, you will complete your qualifications as part of the Level 7 Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship. You will be eligible to apply for CIPFA Membership with professional chartered accountant status. At least 20% of your employed time will be spent on training and development opportunities.

You will also have access to the apprenticeship development, networking and progression workshops that we run regularly.

You must be able to evidence that you meet the eligibility criteria – please ensure that you have read the eligibility criteria in the Job Description & Person Specification.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Math & English: Either – 5 GCSEs A-B / 6-9 OR Functional Skills at Level 2
• A minimum 2:1 degree in any subject OR hold the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification
