Job Description

The primary function of this role is to work as part of a busy Finance function in the position of Financial Accountant. The role will report to the Financial Accounting Manager.

  • Prepare and post journal entries into Oracle including prepayments, accruals, deferred rents, benefits accounting and asset retirement obligation to ensure a timely and accurate month end close
  • Accounting for hypotaxes
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for recording intercompany invoices and settlements
  • Prepare monthly cost reports for functions and support the business with the submission of budgets during the planning cycles
  • Assist with the preparation of essential parts of the UK statutory financial statements and other financial reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of relevant audit working paper for the group and UK Stat audit
  • Providing support to other Financial Accounting team members as required
  • Performing other projects and duties as assigned by the Financial Accounting Manager and the Financial Reporting and Operations Manager.
  • Ongoing compliance with minimum finance standards
  • Play a key role during group, statutory, tax and internal audits
  • Compliance with finance and other internal policies ensuring a robust control environment and risk management.

  • 3 years or more relevant experience working in a busy finance department
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA part qualified accountant or newly qualified
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, local taxes. US GAAP knowledge is desirable
  • Experience of working with financial systems and reporting tools (i.e. Excel, business objects, PowerPoint, Oracle, Alteryx) and willingness to learn more as required
  • Strong organizational skills, orientation to detail and initiative
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional services background is desirable
