Job Description

You will work closely with all departments in the organization and will need to build effective working relationships across relevant areas of the group, at a high level and / or as required. You’ll be both part of the Group finance team and the Electronics Senior Management team and will need to be adept at balancing and meeting the needs of both and agreeing priorities.

This role will require the successful candidate to become the prime partner to the Managing Director and to set out the financial integration, information and decision support to enable the company to make effective, timely and accurate decisions to deliver growth and in year performance.
To provide Support for Managing Director (Electronics) with your dedicated Divisional finance Team as required including but not limited to:

  • To define, develop and drive the financial integration and financial information (the ‘golden’ thread across the business and working with the SMT to ensure there is a full line of sight across all SMT to the budget.
  • To define, develop, agree and then own the financial business planning processes, under the direction and overall accountability of the Managing Director, working with the SMT to develop a robust and assured plan.
  • Budget & Quarterly Forecasting
  • 5 Year Plan modelling for the Electronics Division – including full P/L, B/S and C/flow.
  • Support to the commercial team for tender documents.
  • To be a strong finance expert within the SMT to support the division in growth.
  • Weekly Cash Flow.
  • Monthly management accounts.
  • Flash Reporting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Performance Electronics – Divisional Consolidation
  • Product Portfolio
  • Reporting of Monthly financial Performance Electronics data to Executive team (Trading Review).
  • Take responsibility for: Provide support and guidance to the divisional Financial Accountant with respect to managing:
  • Provision of support to the commercial team as required.
  • Line management of, Financial Accountant, Finance Business Partner and Business Analyst for Performance Electronics.
  • Build the finance team within Electronics to support the division to deliver growth.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate relevant experience working as part of a team and also in a stand-alone role / independently within a larger group and being able to balancing requests from numerous areas. Experience working in a senior financial role is essential as well as the ability to quickly get ‘up and running’.
We’ll also see the following skills, attributes and experience as essential:

  • Qualified CIMA/ ACCA with min 5 years PQA.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience in a product technology sector that includes Hardware and Software products.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of SAP.
  • Proactive and positive by nature – resilient and confident in own abilities but openness to learn from others is key.
  • Robust when challenged with the ability to ‘win’ others with tact, respect and knowledge.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving change into a business at an operational and strategic level.
  • Effective communication skills both with finance and non-finance team members.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to and deliver against tight deadlines.
  • US GAAP knowledge
