Job Description

We are looking for a candidate with previous payroll experience in a fast moving environment, who is able to maintain a “can do” attitude even when working to tight deadlines.
Key duties include:

  • Assist in the maintenance of payroll-related records including Income Tax, National Insurance, Pensions, Occupational and Statutory Sick and Maternity /Paternity Pay, Adoption leave and any other relevant payments or deductions.
  • Ensure all documentation is filed appropriately and that stored material is readily retrievable to respond to queries and for audit purposes.
  • Validate all output from the payroll process to ensure all payments/deductions are correct
  • Complete the current payroll documentation to allow the timely and accurate processing of each period’s payments through BACS.
  • Answer any payroll or benefit queries from colleagues in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist in the submission of year-end returns including production and distribution of P11D’s and associated end of year returns

Hours and Days: 30 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility at key times of the month in response to increased workload/responsibilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have a minimum of two year experience in payroll administration in a fast moving environment
  • Have a strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processing
  • A flexible approach essential to deal with a varied and sometimes unpredictable workload
  • Familiar with a computerized HR/Payroll system for inputting and integration purposes.
  • Can demonstrate an eye for detail and understand the importance of compliance and strong levels of governance
  • Can successfully work within a team but is also capable of working alone to deliver objectives in a timely manner
  • Able to demonstrate strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Computer literacy to work effectively with the required IT systems for Payroll Services, Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word etc.).
