Job Description

Working in a dynamic environment, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role to team’s success. As well as managing the Technical Accounting team to produce high-quality, timely financial information for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, this role will also support the Head of Financial Accounting and Control and deputies where appropriate.
A key element to this role will be to manage the Technical Accounting team to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the accounting ledgers for companies, including local and Group (IFRS17) ledgers for the insurance company. As such, we’d like to hear from candidates who have previous experience of managing a team. This role would suit a qualified Accountant (CIMA ACA or equivalent) with appropriate PQE and an in-depth knowledge of insurance accounting under IFRS4 & IFRS17.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Extensive insurance industry and insurance accounting knowledge;
• An ability to build good working relationships with colleagues from a variety of disciplines;
• A background of embedding and reviewing financial controls; and
• A good understanding of both internal and external audit practices to facilitate efficient accounts and process reviews.
