Job Description

The Department of Finance & Procurement wish to appoint an Accountant to deliver business partner support to the professional service departments.

Core duties will include:

• Preparing budgets
• Forecasts and reporting
• As well as ad-hoc costings and financial approval of staffing requests.

We are looking for a qualified accountant, with experience of working in a complex organisation, and motivated to provide an excellent service to customers. This role will suit you if you are looking to gain experience supporting the financial management of a diverse range of departments, guiding them on how to make the best use of resources. You will also support them with new initiatives and projects from a finance point of view. We are also working on a project to provide dashboard reporting to budget holders to improve the availability of information.

You are responsible for handling the University’s income, expenditure, financial performance and procurement processes, ensuring value for money in its financial activities. In addition, the department provides high quality management accounting support as well as compliance with statutory and regulatory bodies.
