Job Description

You will be facilitating and coordinating sales leads to secure incremental business through successful commercial sales negotiations, customer relationship management and outbound activities. You will manage a sales territory whilst nurturing and converting leads into profitable sales orders, whilst maximising future business opportunities

What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role

  • Co-ordinate with your external Sales partner and facilitate in the execution of sales activity plans with primary focus on a sales territory and supporting day-2-day activities through quotations and local sales campaigns.
  • Develop the entire account base through effective account management maximising available working time
  • Finding profitable new contacts in new and existing customers, maintaining an accurate database of current and new customers and expand the range of product technologies purchased by these contacts
  • Building productive relationships with customers and individual contacts
  • Providing solutions to meet customer’s needs by the profitable deployment of value-added services
  • Accountable for sales quotation discounting whist maintaining a profitable margin.
  • Prioritize sales quotation activity, pursue and negotiate sales quotations to convert to order, within appropriate time frame

  • Pro-actively build customer relationships through influencing and negotiating to create an environment conducive to generating full account revenue potential
  • Influencing, challenging and working with the sales team and across the local market and wider company structure
  • Influence internal contacts to assist in complex enquiries
  • Ensure that Supply Chain is informed of all large order opportunities to maximize our stock position by minimizing stock outage
  • Take ownership of customer needs/issues
  • Complete monthly reports as required, relating to ongoing and forthcoming revenue opportunities for their aligned regions
  • Attend and present at local sales and team meetings on a quarterly basis
  • Maintain high standards of telephone and email service level

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to make good commercial decisions (e.g. calculate discounts on sales price and margin) and make decisions in the short term and medium term based on their impact on wider business context
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills ideally in a telephone environment
  • Ability to build relationships with customers by telephone
  • Proven negotiation and selling skills in a commercial environment
  • Time management and planning skills
  • Ability to priorities activities based on best return on investment for time and resources allocated
  • Self-motivation, whilst able to work well in a team environment
