Job Description
You will manage the preparation of all financial reports and forecasts. You will oversee the maintenance of accounting records and ensure the implementation of appropriate controls adequate to mitigate risk. Additionally, you will ensure that company complies both with accepted industry accounting principles and those of our parent company Hasbro and eOne.
You will lead a team of two people and will be responsible for their ongoing development and performance. You will ensure that the team understand and adhere to the Finance Department’s processes and procedures. In addition, you will manage and ensure an accurate payroll function to the business. Where needed you will provide decision making support to the Boulder Media management team through financial analysis of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day management of the finance function for the business
- Present each month to Boulder’s management team
- Lead, coach and develop a finance team of two people
- Responsible for all FP&A activities of the company to include:
- Work with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial accounts, monthly payroll, creditor payments, S.481 submissions, CSO reporting and any other statistical forms, statutory and tax submissions
- Aid the decision-making process to the business leaders by offering financial insight
- Work with Hasbro & eOne stakeholders to ensure accurate transfer and consolidation of financial data
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures for the studio finance function.
- Work with budget owners to ensure control of overhead expenditure
- Manage the studio payroll function
- Ensure correct allocation of operating expenses and cross-charges to SPVs monthly
- Manage FS preparation and company audits annually
- Develop a good working knowledge of animated film production and the requirements of producing animation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
This is a hands-on role and requires an understanding of accounts preparation, FP&A, audit and tax. We feel the role would be best suited to a practice-trained individual with some experience in industry.
You will possess the following:
- Qualified Accountant with 5-7 years PQE and previous experience in a similar role
- Experience managing a finance team
- Excellent communication skills, experience working at senior management level and global stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills, accounting skills, statistical analysis and problem solving
- An understanding of entertainment accounting and finance (or R&D tax credit) is desirable
