Job Description

The Assistant Management Accountant operates within the team supporting the Professional Strategic Business Units (SBUs). You will provide appropriate professional advice and support on financial issues to two SBUs and be responsible for producing their monthly accounts, quarterly forecasts and budgets. The role also includes assisting other Management Accountants within this team and carrying out due diligence on Partner’s financial statements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Your application will show previous experience of advanced Excel skills and data analysis. You will have had significant experience in the use of at least one accounting package in a large, complex organization, and experience of knowing when to make a decision autonomously and when to refer to a Senior Finance Manager. 

This role requires a high degree of numeracy, so you will have a good understanding of budgetary control processes and able to analyze and interpret financial information. A good working knowledge of Word with proven attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are essential.. You should have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks accurately, working without close supervision and whilst completing work to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

You must be at least working towards a professional accounting qualification (CCAB), or able to demonstrate significant experience in a similar role. Ideally, you will be at least AAT qualified, and educated to degree level, or equivalent with previous experience in higher education administration.
