You will play a pivotal role in the preparation of the Authority’s annual budget, undertake the role of Accountant for the Communities and Skills directorate assisting with the monitoring of income and expenditure, providing high level financial advice and undertaking financial due diligence for our programme; in particular for the Adult Education Budget. Promoting strong financial management and working with Directorates to ensure robust financial and performance reporting will be core to your role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The post is ideal for someone looking to develop their accountancy career in a fast moving environment. A CCAB qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience Accountant, you will have an understanding of local government finance and strong accounting and Excel skills. You should also be a confident communicator who is able to foster great working relationships with those you work with and relish working to challenging deadlines. A flexible approach and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
