Job Description

A key feature of the post will be effectively liaising with departments within the Trust and the periphery, developing efficient working relationships and promoting the effective use of information services to support the multi-disciplinary cancer team to implement the cancer waiting times. Multidisciplinary Teams provide a specialist decision making process in a weekly meeting, reviewing all relevant diagnostic tests, radiology, histology and medical data in order to plan appropriate treatment for those patients diagnosed with cancer. The patient Administrator is responsible for ensuring this happens in an organized fashion.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful applicant will be reliable, hardworking, enthusiastic able to demonstrate initiative with good organizational & communication skills and have an ability to work to tight deadlines. The ability to integrate well with the existing teams and a genuine desire to contribute to providing a quality service to patients is essential. Applicants should possess NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification / experience, knowledge of medical terminology and a high standard of keyboard skills. They must have previous experience of working within the NHS. Knowledge of the cancer patient journey along with an understanding of the National Cancer Dataset would be advantageous.
