Job Description

As our ideal Assistant Accountant, you will be a part-qualified Accountant who is working towards completing your studies. You will be a quick learner with a flexible approach and committed to expanding your knowledge and experience through working within our highly talented team.
​Joining our team as an Assistant Accountant, you will take on ownership and responsibility for the Accounting activities for your assigned entities and/or functional accounting area, ensuring the monthly management accounts are accurate, reviewed and submitted within deadline. You will also be responsible for preparing VAT returns, completing TAX preparation work, Accounting for local GAAP requirements and working within our control framework.
On a daily basis, your new role will involve:

  • Ensure each set of books’ month end actuals are finalized by the Month End Deadline
  • Ensure all Revenue is calculated, posted and reported correctly, including allocating income to their correct Product/GL/Client codes and accounting for Sales Taxes correctly
  • Lead & perform the calculation and reconcile all Accruals across a number of Allocated Countries & Processes
  • Ensure all direct costs – including Commissions/Marketing/Benefit costs/Fulfilment/Transaction Fees- are calculated, posted and reported correctly including allocating costs to their correct Product/GL/Client codes and accounting for any taxes correctly.
  • Ensure all Overhead costs are calculated, posted and reported accurately including allocating costs to the correct cost Centre/GL codes.
  • Review of P&L/TB for each country before submission.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to explain entries and make adjustments so they can submit on time.
  • Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet control accounts and preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations to timetable.
  • Ensure any returns/reports are prepared within deadline in relation to allocated countries
  • Completion of allocated Countries VAT Returns on time and accurately
  • Ensure the robustness and integrity of the results delivered for cxLoyalty companies taking into consideration Internal, Audit and controls and country statutory and tax regulations.
  • Keep up to date with system changes/business /product/ changes.
  • Preparation of local Statutory Accounts & Annual Tax returns
  • Support of Insurance claims process to Insurance Controller

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will also have the following skills & experience: ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified + Studier. Good academic background. A Flexible approach and ability to work to tight deadlines. Developing Accounting and technical knowledge. Experience of a financial control environment. Good Excel and Finance software skills. Degree educated. Experience of working in a Financial shared service environment. Use of Oracle Financials/Access/Essbase/TM1. Insurance experience.
