Job Description
To be responsible for the financial management, controls and reporting for several Manufacturing Business Units and support functions of UK Manufacturing, being actively involved in each areas pursuit of the company’s goals and objectives.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- To provide financial support to the Business Unit Director and management team.
- To be an active member of the finance and business unit teams, helping both to deliver against the company’s goals and objectives.
- To provide accurate and timely Financial/Management accounts to support the effective monitoring of the business unit.
- To be responsible for agreement of monthly production numbers.
- To prepare, analyze and report, on a monthly basis or as required all manufacturing data including: production volumes, yields, CPUs, Headcount, PPV and overhead costs.
- To ensure that Dry Moulds and WIP inventory for the business unit are controlled and recorded in accordance with group accounting policies.
- To provide on-site financial control to all aspects of the business unit, providing day to day support and advice to Business unit staff and management team members on existing and future manufacturing internal control practices.
- To regularly audit SOX / Internal control processes within the business unit & participate in internal controls testing for the wider UK business.
- To monitor and control capital investment projects.
- To be responsible for monitoring and reporting of fixed assets within the business unit ensuring that capital additions and asset disposals are processed.
- Monitor and report the expenditure and headcount of a group of indirect cost Centre’s.
- To produce annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- To be responsible for the reporting and forecasting of one or more central such as total business headcount and overhead allocations and the operations of our R&D and AMT functions
- Business Modeling - what if scenarios.
- Liaising with the companies’ internal and external auditors as required
- To perform balance sheet reconciliations and journal posting.
- To perform any other duties as required (Duties may also be modified over time).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A high level of computer literacy is required, especially in the use of integrated financial databases and costing systems. Advanced skill in the use of Excel is required. Intermediate skill in the use of PowerPoint and Word is required. Knowledge of US GAAP preferred. Problem solving – disciplined approach to identifying problems and providing solutions. Planning and Organizing – results oriented with a strong drive. Continuous Improvement / Change orientation. Working with Others – a good team player with team based ways of working. High level of professional knowledge and experience. Experience Accounting experience required. Experience of accounting in a high volume manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in the financial management of capital investments and inventory is preferred. Working knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley Act would be preferable. Education: Qualified / or QBE (CIMA, ACCA). Educated to degree level preferred.
