We are now looking to recruit a high-caliber senior Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) project manager to join our growing EIA & Environmental Management team based in Glasgow. Depending on the skills, background and experience, the successful candidate is likely to be appointed to consultant, senior consultant, and principal consultant, or associate director level within RSK.
You will be joining a dynamic and growing team within a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy serving a wide range of commercial, energy, government, property, and transport and utilities clients. Our EIA/EM teams are currently supporting clients on a range of major infrastructure projects in Scotland before, during and after construction. Our expectation is that you will have an influential role in these projects from the outset and will help shape our response to new market opportunities.
Currently, we are operating remote working for many of our office-based employees and this is expected to evolve into a blended working arrangement when restrictions enable this.
Responsibilities:
Managing and overseeing EIA projects and other environmental studies, including successful delivery, client management and financial control,
Coordination of multi-disciplinary teams,
EIA report, EIA screening and/or scoping reports and environmental report documentation preparation and editing,
Working with regulators and liaising with clients,
Providing advice on a wide range of environmental issues,
Pro-active business development to identify new opportunities and win profitable new business,
Client relationship management to support repeat business,
Preparation of proposals and tenders successfully,
Mentoring of junior staff.
Salary and benefits:
£25,000 - £45,000 commensurate with relevant experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A minimum of three years of previous consultancy experience in EIA. Experience in one or more of the following sectors would be essential: onshore renewable energy and associated electrical infrastructure, and/or energy transmission and distribution. Experience in one or more of the following sectors would be desirable: rail, transport, property. Experience in managing Section 36 and/or Section 37 consent applications, major and/or local planning applications. Comprehensive knowledge of Scottish environmental legislation. Specialist skills in a related subject (e.g. town planning, ecology, hydrology, landscape) would be advantageous but not essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good team player, with the ability to work independently. Full UK driving license. Enthusiastic and well organized. BSc degree level qualified in a relevant subject, Preferably MSc qualified in environmental impact assessment, environmental management or a closely related subject, Preferably Full member of IEMA and/or Chartered Environmentalist.
