This newly created position sits within the Statutory Accounting team and is the result of expanded responsibilities within the team. Team responsibilities include Statutory Reporting for Insurance Companies, Service Companies and Holding Companies, Regulatory Reporting in a wide range of jurisdictions, including Solvency II, and Reinsurance Reporting.
A further element of this responsibility will be the preparation and coordination of the regulatory returns ensuring the company meets the Bermuda regulatory requirements.
In addition to the reinsurance responsibilities the role will also include a variety of Regulatory and Statutory reporting/analysis and will interface with key Corporate Accounting and Treasury staff; International Market accountants, Actuarial teams as well as external Regulatory stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support management of company by providing monthly analysis and commentary on the monthly operating results. This includes ability to identify, research, and explain variances.
Liaise with the various accounting teams to ensure results are accurate and provided in a timely manner.
Preparation and settlement of quarterly reporting to external reinsurers.
Preparation of the our annual statutory filing as required by the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
Maintain the our cash flow and capital plan necessary to help determine and advise dividend and capital contribution payment to parent and subsidiaries.
Preparation of Regulatory submissions out with Bermuda e.g. UK, Switzerland, USA, Belgium.
Preparing analysis for Insurance companies/branches on a quarterly and adhoc basis
Provide support for the quarterly BNB consolidation process.
Complete statutory financial statements.
Involvement in multiple year end audits.
Support the automation of manual processes in order to improve efficiency and reduce reporting risk.
