Job Description

A versatile and experienced Accountant is required for a client in the West Hull area. The successful candidate needs to have good broad based accounting skills, a high degree of accuracy and have excellent people skills to communicate effectively across all areas of this friendly, people focused business. Ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified, candidates who are finalists or qualified by experience are also welcome to apply. This position is also open to applicants from professional practice looking to make their first entry into industry and into an SME environment.

THE ROLE:
Reporting into the Managing Director the Company Accountant will undertake a wide variety of duties including:
-The preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flows, financial accounting, VAT and year end processes, stock valuations, produce accurate balance sheets
-All ledgers and credit control, bank reconciliations and payments
-Ad hoc duties and projects as and when required
-Liaison with insurers and health and safety
-This is an all-round Company Accountant appointment with wide ranging duties and covering all aspects of the day to day running of the finance function

THE BENEFITS:
£36,000 - £41,000 depending on background, experience and level of qualification + company health scheme + 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + other discretionary benefits

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-Ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified you will already have the necessary experience required to undertake a Company Accountant role and be looking to put those skills to good use in a successful SME -Forward thinking and with high attention to detail you enjoy working with a friendly team and are able to communicate financial information to the wider area of the business -You are a competent Excel user and have a high degree of systems literacy generally. You maintain high standards at all times, working with accuracy and efficiency sometimes to quite tight deadlines and have confidence in the work you produce. -You like to be busy and are looking for a company who value their staff and maintain high staff retention levels -Candidates who are currently working in professional practice and preparing accounts for clients with the relevant skills and experience are welcome to apply along with applicants already working in industry
