Job Description
- Support the year end production of Statutory Accounts and liaise and support external auditors.
- Responsibility for quarterly and monthly VAT reporting and general support on VAT queries from the business.
- Support the Financial Controller with corporation tax calculation and HMRC compliance.
- Balance Sheet control accounts and reconciliations.
- Support for financial consolidations for monthly management reporting, budgets, forecasts and business plans plus commentary.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for Corporate Overheads plus supporting analysis and commentary.
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans for Corporate Overheads plus supporting analysis and commentary.
- Support and understand the cost allocation process for corporate overheads.
- Support for Insurance claims, renewals, tenders and queries.
- Champion for compliance and controls across all areas of Finance.
- Support the development of a strong culture of fraud awareness within the Finance team to protect the business from fraud, error and manipulation.
- Support for policies and procedure documents and mapping.
- Support innovation and automation to improve reporting and productivity in Finance.
- Deputies for the Financial Controller.
- Responsible for managing and supporting one member of staff.
- Back-up bank signatory on Bankline.
- Provide technical accounting support to the finance team.
- Other duties, commensurate with the grading of the post that may be assigned by the Financial Controller.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- ACCA, ACA Qualified
- Strong technical accounting skills - ideally suited to someone who is qualified in practice.
- Good communication skills (ability to build relationships outside of the finance team).
