Maintaining accurate financial records and reports
Profit and Loss Accounts / Balance Sheet
Prepayments / accruals
Monthly / ad-hoc journals
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Cash Flow
Budget reports and variance analysis
Financial forecasting
Annual budget preparation
Fixed asset control
Preparation of year-end and statutory accounts
Audit preparation
Income recognition
Income costing calculations
Ad-hoc reports and investigation of financial queries
As part of a small team additional other tasks will also be required
Chasing debt and debt management
Managing and reconciling bank accounts
Supporting the Head of Finance and Financial Accounting Manager
Core Competencies
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified accounting technician - AAT level 4
part qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA,
At least one years comparable experience
within a medium/large organization
comparable experience within an education or charity environment
Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
Hands on experience using accounting software packages
Ability to work independently and flexibly and determine appropriate priorities.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Recent experience using Sage 50
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral – with internal and external stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
Strong analytical skills
A commitment to achieve high standards in all aspects of the work undertaken
Willingness to undertake continued professional development.
