Job Description
Bookkeeping: Using Quickbooks ( stock management, expenses, etc)
Bank reconciliation: reconciliation of funds received against Customer accounts and payments applied correctly against Supplier accounts
Purchase ledger: Ensure all bills are entered timely and accurately in Quickbooks by the reporting period
Sales ledger: Verify all sales invoices are recorded timely and accurately in Quickbooks by the reporting period
Payment Runs: Make sure suppliers are paid on time and send remittance advice
Credit Control: Chasing outstanding invoices and sending reminders to customers
HMRC submissions: Preparing and filing VAT returns timely and accurately
Month End: Support Management Accountant in the preparation of the monthly financial reports of Operations to review
Year End: Support in the preparation of the yearly company financial reports
General Office Support:
Answering telephone and dealing with enquiries
Manage the ordering of office supplies for staff (Stationery, tea/coffee)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
QuickBooks or equivalent accounting package
Self-starter
Highly motivated
Good communications skills
Ability to priorities
“CAN DO” attitude for working within a small dynamic entrepreneurial biotech company
Work Experience and knowledge:
Experience of working in an office-based environment
Excel (basic skills plus V-look ups and Pivot Tables)
Word, Power point and Outlook
Accounts preparations
Month- end process
Desirable but not essential: Degree level at least
Studying towards an accounting qualification is desirable but not essential (AAT/ACCA or CIMA)
