Job Description
Billing including preparation of occasional statute bills
Preparing daily banking and allocating funds received
Assisting departments with matter ledger enquiries (including dealing residual balances and matter closures)
Inter account transfers
Arranging payments via internet banking or cheque
Code and check purchase invoices
Check and reconcile supplier statements and resolve any queries
Deal with purchase ledger enquiries
Filing of invoices and statements
Process and pay staff expenses
Cash collection including payment chasing/credit control
Prepare monthly company credit card journal
Managing petty cash including monthly reconciliation
Daily bank reconciliations
Assisting with producing financial and management reports as and when required
Any other task as reasonably required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Three years experience in a similar accounts role
5 good GCSE including Maths and English (A-C)
Strong communication, team-working and interpersonal skills
Ability to priorities and manage a busy workload within a high-volume environment
Excellent keyboard / IT skills – particularly in Excel
Self-motivated problem-solver, able to escalate matters as and when appropriate
Attention to detail and pride in own work
Professional attitude
Flexible and dependable
Excellent time management
Awareness of sensitivities around working with confidential data
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
Worked in a legal environment
Understanding of legal terminology
