Job Description
  • Assess and approve/decline the majority of requests within a personal credit discretion, using available client and industry information
  • Constructively engage with front line teams to obtain additional information when deemed appropriate
  • Prepare credit proposals for more challenging cases and those outside personal credit discretion
  • Prepare clear and concise applications highlighting all significant issues, engaging with customers to obtain additional information where necessary
  • Make sound decisions based on this information or present written recommendations to the relevant approving authorities, including Group Credit Committee
  • Give timely, constructive feedback to Dealers and Sales staff regarding new and increased credit prospects
  • Carry out periodic credit reviews of individual customers using financial and non-financial sources including occasional customer site visits
  • Carry out ad hoc credit research into industries and individual customers
  • Ensure all customer and internal correspondence is of the highest quality
  • Ensure all files, paperwork and systems are maintained in line with moneycorp standards
  • Ensure moneycorp procedures and policies are followed at all times, including Know Your Customer procedures
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with colleagues across the business
  • Support other Credit team members in carrying out their duties and developing their credit skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Prior experience at senior analyst level within a credit department essential and likely to include some or all of the following:

  • SME corporates
  • A wide range of customer industry sectors including wholesale/distribution, tourism, IT infrastructure and services, food supply chain, clothing, commodities
  • Private equity backed transactions
  • Complex group structures
  • Funds and fund managers
  • An appreciation of the different characteristics of the overseas markets in which moneycorp has a presence would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience in a demanding dealing room environment is preferable
  • Basic knowledge of foreign exchange markets and FX and structured option products including risk and suitability factors
  • Relationship building with people at all levels of seniority
  • The ability to work unsupervised under pressure in a fast paced environment and to tight deadlines
  • Good organizational skills including prioritization
  • Clear communicator, written and verbal
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Commercial acumen and proven sound judgment including use of subjective factors
  • Attention to detail
  • Finance based degree or similar is desirable
