Job Description

You will contribute directly to driving performance, business partnering, identifying and managing risk and the governance. This is an ideal opportunity to develop your knowledge from an end-to-end perspective.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Performance monitoring and control (incl. competitor and market analysis): lead the financial results review processes with early identification/communication of key issues.
  • Propose corrective actions/new initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on subsequent implementation.
  • Ensure effective support to Country Managers, Fit for Growth Manager and EU4 Finance Executive to facilitate speed of decision making
  • Budgeting and forecasting: provide support and guidance both internally and to the company during the monthly reporting, budgeting, rolling forecast and Long Range Plan.
  • Lead processes, including consolidation, modelling of necessary drivers, building target models as well as recommendation of improvements and challenges based on those analysis and market information.
  • Manage company expectations around budgeting cycles and ensure team have relevant background to inform senior level discussions.
  • Investor relations: provide support to Country Managers, Fit for Growth Manager and EU4 Finance Executive on quarterly and half year requirements, to have high quality discussions with Group CFO.
  • Best practice sharing and performance improvement: Identify opportunities through best practise sharing across Vodafone and provide support within the team to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Support the development of key ‘horizontal’ initiatives across the region engaging stakeholders and producing analysis and insight to drive change.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Commercial acumen – demonstrate deep understanding of key drivers of value in the telecommunications industry.
  • Stakeholder management – ability to build strong and cross functional relationships in Group and with often external influences
  • Resilient, ‘can do’ attitude with courage and conviction to take initiative, propose ideas and constructively challenge key stakeholders.
  • Innovative thinking and ability to develop analysis, critically assess model scenarios to assess business risk.
  • Ability to deliver key messages to stakeholders with clarity and consistency.
  • Strong financial reporting and management
  • Clear and effective communication with EU4 Executives (Inc. Group Financial Controller) in explaining key business issues and providing relevant back up or analysis when required
  • Clear and complete understanding of the drivers of the financials, ensuring that material risks are identified and assessed.
  • Timely and accurate submission of actuals, forecasts and budgets, driving up data quality.
  • Educated to degree level
  • ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
