Job Description

To oversee the production of timely and accurate information for both internal management information (local and head office) and external regulatory requirements. 
The main duties of this role will include:

  • Overall responsibility for implementation of adequate financial controls to manage the business
  • Ensures that the company is financially sound and structured to meet its financial obligations and satisfy all regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Overall responsibility for all FCA and Exchange financial reporting requirements. Ensures that the returns are accurate, and submitted by the appropriate deadlines
  • Ensures controls and procedures exist to deliver management information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensures that procedures are followed in the following areas: accounting; treasury; financial compliance;
  • Undertakes regular monitoring of day-to-day activities including significant risk issues
  • Approves and amends where necessary, contractual relationships with clients; brokers; banks etc. as a member of senior management
  • Makes plans, determines priorities, and delegates activities to be performed. Supervises progress and monitors work for quality and quantity in Treasury and Finance
  • Interacts with, and advises, other managers within the company as necessary
  • Interprets trading and profit and loss information on a client/salesman basis as required in accordance with Profit Centre Agreements
  • Liaises with and informs regulatory bodies/clients, and other third parties as required
  • Manages the company's currency exposure in concert with MD and ADM policies and procedures
  • Is responsible for maintaining procedures for cost control within the business
  • Provides leadership and advice to the Finance and Treasury Departments and is a role model for all staff
  • People management responsibilities: Is directly responsible for the performance of various individuals within the company.
  • Is responsible for managing any performance related issues, salary and bonus decisions, appraisals and any other personal or business related issues at both an individual and team level

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified Accountant
  • 10 years’ experience in roles within a Financial Services environment (with 5 years or more at senior management level)
  • Current on all Financial Services Regulatory reporting standards and requirements
  • Experience in either the commodity markets and/or Exchange Traded Derivatives markets
  • Microsoft Office - Intermediate
  • Varied and numerous - as appropriate to duties and responsibilities
