Be the key person responsible for Sage accounting software and all financial processes
Taking ownership and driving accounting processes to completion
Lead a small, keen, finance team and help them to thrive
Prepare models and complete annual budgeting and strategic planning process at the group and individual home level, then utilize these to set monthly budget targets
Oversee monthly and weekly payroll calculations.
Ensure all statutory returns and financial submissions (e.g. payroll) are completed on time
Prepare annual statutory financial statements
Liaise with external auditors to manage annual external audits
Prepare tax information to assist with compiling company and directors personal tax returns
The Financial Controller will prepare VAT returns
Review and approve bank statement reconciliations and ensure that outstanding issues are resolved in a timely basis
Ensure monthly reviews of budget targets are conducted with budget holders and identify areas where costs saving could be achieved
Oversee invoicing and ensure agreed group credit control policies are adhered to
Oversee preparation supplier payment schedule
Ensure that accounts assistant is provided with the appropriate levels of supervision, mentoring & coaching
Conduct regular appraisals with accounts assistant, credit control and payroll staff
