Job Description

The Financial Controller needs to be able to handle an environment of complexity, change and tight deadlines. This person will need to have ambition to make a difference, need to be resilient and ready to be involved in a variety of tasks. They will need to be inquisitive and challenge current processes. The Financial Controller also needs to mentor their team to success and work closely with European business stakeholders and Group Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review the month end processes and performs analysis of the Europe region financial results;
• Perform and coordinate all reporting to Group Finance;
• Hold excellent technical accounting ability for complex transactions, including acquisitions;
• Collaborate with other finance team leaders to ensure reporting to the business is timely, accurate and insightful;
• Manage and review all tax compliance (direct and indirect) for the Europe region;
• Manage and review cash flow and regularly reviewing internal reports for the Europe region;
• Manage the team towards meeting all internal and external deadlines;
• Supervise and mentor financial department staff;
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting processes and controls;
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported;
• Key liaison for the external auditors in the completion of Group and local statutory financial statements and regulatory audits within deadlines;
• Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information and assist the CFO with ad hoc tasks; and
• Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Post qualified with 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Big 4 preferred;
• Experience in a complex finance environment;
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent technical and commercial accounting skills; and
• Automation skills preferred.
• SAP Finance & Controlling: 4 years (preferred)
• Financial management: 5 years (required)
