Job Description

Working alongside a small team consisting of an Assistant Management Accountant, Administration Officer, Finance Assistant and Credit Controller. You will be required to prepare detailed, accurate reports as requested by the Directors and Senior Management.

Working hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm (1-hour unpaid break) Monday- Friday

The ideal person should be detail orientated, logical, efficient, accurate and have a First Time Right philosophy.

  • To assist and have a close level of involvement in the group’s financial reporting processes, including all monthly management accounts and other processes
  • To be the main point of assistance and liaison with the team engaged in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • To ensure a fast and effective flow of information day-to-day between the Finance Team, Commercial Team and the Directors
  • To assist in business planning and associated reporting
  • To produce regular cash flow forecasts
  • To assist in the annual audit process
  • To assist in preparing VAT returns
  • To correct and tidy bookkeeping errors and monthly journals
  • Other tasks as may be required from time to time

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Part-qualification/fully qualified in AAT, ACCA or CIMA
  • Experienced in accountancy or bookkeeping in a SME environment
  • An exceptionally high degree of numeracy and attention to detail
  • Experienced and confident in SAGE Line 50
  • A good communicator, skilled at getting information from a range of sources and departments
  • Intermediate level Excel skills to a confident degree
  • Experience of accounting for stock/inventory
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • A team player, able to foster excellent relationships at all levels
  • A self-starter, willing to go the extra mile
  • A good understanding of customer service with reference to both internal and external customers
  • Dealing with Companies House, filing accounts and company changes
  • Experience of accounts receivable
  • Financial research skills and experience
  • High/advanced level Excel skills
  • Experience of accounting in a property and/or manufacturing business
  • Due diligence for potential company acquisitions
