Job Description

The position will be to provide assistance and support to the Coordinators whilst learning the role and developing administrative skills, knowledge and experience. This role is a training role and opportunities may arise for development into a Pathway Coordinator role within the team.

  1. To support the Coordinators in the coordinating and preparation of the Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, as directed by the Cancer Coordinator.
  2. To support the Coordinators in ensuring that all test results, x-rays and other relevant information are available for discussion at the meeting.
  3. This will involve developing knowledge of the patient pathway for individual tumor sites and liaison with staff from Pathology, Radiology, and Medical Records and with Secretaries, Clerks and other staff from the relevant Directorates.
  4. To support the Coordinators in ensuring that the video conference links to other Trusts are set up prior to the meetings and escalating any technical problems to Media Studio / IT to ensure a timely resolution that does not affect.
  5. To support the Coordinators in the distribution of meetings outcomes appropriately. Also to support the development of working practices with the teams and their directorate support staff to ensure that details of our decisions, including further investigations required are dispatched to GPs within 24 hours of any decision as directed by the Cancer coordinator.
  6. Where necessary to liaise with other Trusts in relation to patients where the Trust is a Tertiary Centre for particular cancer pathways, as directed by the Cancer coordinator.
