The team also has a heavy focus on financial services compliance, given that the Home Services firms are regulated by the FCA. This role is responsible for the delivery of the annual risk monitoring plan.
- Promote a strong risk management, quality and compliance culture through the setting and achievement of high standards in all dealings with the business
- Provide input to the annual risk monitoring plan for agreement by the Senior Leadership Team
- Develop the objectives and scope of individual audit engagements for discussion with senior management
- Perform audit engagements in accordance with the agreed risk monitoring plan
- Deliver high quality audit reports that succinctly identify practical opportunities to improve the effectiveness of internal controls
- Track progress in addressing agreed audit actions and effectively support the timely closure of audit issues through direct liaison with stakeholders
- Support the ongoing refinement of the Home Services audit framework and process
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at developing and improving internal control, risk management and governance frameworks
- Assist with other ad-hoc projects and investigations as required
- Maintain a strong understanding of legislative, regulatory obligations and their impact on the business
- Remain up-to-date with changes to relevant regulation/legislation and the impact to the business.
