Job Description

We have an exciting role for an HR Assistant to join our team. The position can be based (normally) in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office. You will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the team and will assist us in providing an excellent level of service to our key stakeholders as the firm continues to grow.

As part of this busy HR team, you will tasked with providing an excellent level of administrative support, managing our HR inbox and assisting with recruitment and Law Society procedures.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the HR inbox - responding to general queries from staff; allocating these to team members
  • Administration - assisting with contracts of employment, PES checks and general HR documentation
  • Maintaining SelectHR (HR database) – employee details accurately and in live time
  • Absence Management - recording absences and escalating trigger points to relevant managers
  • Supporting our work experience, summer placement and graduate recruitment programmes
  • Assisting with payroll input and processing on a monthly basis
  • Updating the HR intranet with current information/ initiatives
  • Assisting with Law Society procedures
  • Supporting ad hoc project work such as TUPE transfers, drafting policies, GDPR compliance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
What you will need to succeed: 1-2 years’ office administration experience, ideally in a professional services environment. Previous experience working in HR would be advantageous but not essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – word, outlook, excel and PowerPoint. A flexible, adaptable and deadline focused approach to work. Ability to streamline processes and identify efficiencies.
