Job Description

Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our Finance Team to assistant the Finance Manager with day-to-day accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to).

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly accounts.
  • Involvement in reconciliation of control accounts i.e. bank, purchase ledger, sales ledger, PAYE and wages.
  • Produce weekly profit and loss reports as well as variance analysis with supporting paperwork and commentary to managers.
  • Assist with invoicing, budgeting, journal entries, calculation and posting of accruals and prepayments, Preparation of VAT returns and associated legislation returns (including cash accounting and Partial Exemption),
  • Undertake cash flow forecasting,
  • Preparation of management accounts and preparation of year end accounts to 1st draft stages.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You must have good grasp of the range of skills required in this role, solid experience of Sage 50 payroll and accounts, and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Be an excellent problem solver, effective communicator and team player. HND in Accounting, AAT or other accounting regulatory body qualification, or a minimum of 2 years practical experience in a financial setting. Significant post qualification experience.
