We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to provide maternity cover for a period of one year to support the Finance team, ensuring all ledgers operate efficiently and assisting with month end processes. The ability to multi-task is essential and the ideal candidate is resourceful, organized and able to use their own initiative to problem solve.
Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger processing and management
Sales Ledger processing and management
Preparation of monthly payment runs
Preparation of ad hoc payments
Assist with credit control
Bank reconciliations
Employee expenses
Employee credit card processing and reconciliation
Assist with the production of monthly management accounts
Month end journals
Support with year end accounting processes
Preparation of information for external auditors
Production of monthly overhead analysis
Performance analysis for recently completed installations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Math & English GCSEs or equivalent grade C or above. At least 3 years of previous relevant experience. Experience of using Sage 200 is essential. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Numerical & analytical skills. Attention to detail and considerate of implications. Intermediate in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook. Ability to multi-task successfully. Ability to meet deadlines and priorities work accordingly. Honest, professional and approachable. Willing to work hard and encourage good behaviors in others. Team player, happy to back others up and contribute to joint success. Comfortable working in a small team. AAT Qualified / ACCA/CIMA part qualified (preferred, not essential). Experience of working in the Construction Industry would be advantageous. Interest in renewable energy and carbon reduction. Interest in electrical design, installation and maintenance. Experience: Sage 200: 1 year (Preferred). relevant: 3 years (Preferred).
