Finance Manager
Full Time
Job Description

We have an opportunity for a skilled finance professional to support the business in a dedicated financial analysis and reporting role. The role is less about formal preparation of accounts and statutory reporting, and more about informing critical business decisions. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our funders and exec team have a full picture of the financial health of the business at all times. You’ll love data, and help us cut through the noise.
About half of the role will focus on regular analysis, such as monthly reports on margins, overhead costs and hiring cadence Vs budget. The other half will focus on ad-hoc or tactical analysis: refreshing budget models, analyzing new opportunities or responding to questions from funders.

What you'll do?

  • Own the OEV budget model, including stress testing and scenario analysis
  • Own short-term cash flow and working capital forecasting
  • Own monthly budget Vs actual reporting, including detailed analysis of hiring cadence and staff costs
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis on OEV’s margins on each element of our leasing products (vehicle financing, maintenance plans, damage and termination waivers etc.)
  • Produce the financial reporting and analysis required by our asset funders
  • Support with ad-hoc analytical exercises

It’s important to note this role isn’t about managing or overseeing others (although that may well come with time) - on day one you will be ‘doing’ the above and excited to get stuck in.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience of producing digestible reporting on financial performance for senior audiences
  • Experience of explaining complex financial matters to generalist audiences - visually and verbally
  • Qualified accountant or CFA. If not, you’ll need to provide a strong and specific case for how you have gained a comparable level of technical capability
  • Strong degree of comfort with balance sheets
  • Understanding of debt funding and its accounting treatments
  • Excellent excel skills and integrated financial model experience
  • Leasing, automotive or asset based securitization experience
  • Scale-up experience
  • Experience of reporting to external funders
  • Knowledge of BI / visualization too
