Job Description

You will be working on material transactions for clients, understanding their needs and then contributing to proposed solutions. You will use your expertise of deal structuring and judgment of the credit profile to influence debt structures and guide origination teams.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing high quality, balanced credit analysis, financial modelling and credit report writing within risk appetite with a view to obtaining credit approval from credit sanctioners /credit committees
  • Gathering the right level of financial information from the clients to understand the key financial ratios, forecast financial models and suitable sensitivities to support lending decision
  • Working in partnership with the coverage and Product teams on new credit applications, providing preliminary guidance on credit appetite and consulting with credit specialists under own initiative
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationships with specialist/sales team colleagues, credit sanctioners and operations colleagues to deliver great customer outcomes
  • Attending team meetings/customers visits and contribute to environment of mutual support by sharing knowledge with other team members
  • Providing high quality credit analysis and identify appropriate products and structures to suit the client needs.
  • You will conduct relevant analysis to identify and mitigate risk, or escalate as required
  • Adding value to the Front Office and product teams with effective deal making/structuring to support Coverage in delivering to client expectations
  • Providing prompt and accurate information for adhoc requests made by the Regulator and senior management as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven corporate credit analysis experience and lending to medium/ large corporates. Structuring analytical and excellent numeracy skills
  • Able to work to tight deadlines in a pressure environment and relationship management skills
  • Understanding of the Lending end-to-end process in company Corporate, including inter alia, case submissions, fit to lend conditions, post sanction fulfilment and monitoring & control activities
  • Awareness of different sources of corporate funding and the macro-economic factors affecting debt markets
  • Good knowledge of Standards, Policies and Procedures.
  • Awareness of Legislation affecting the Banking Industry
  • Higher education degree or suitable professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, AMCT, CFA)
