Job Description

You’ll be the lead local controllership individual responsible for the business. You’ll be your primary responsibilities. You’re constantly looking for improvement activities within delivering the accounting agenda.

You will be responsible for;

• Monthly US GAAP reporting- including understanding results & accounting issues
• Accounting rules – providing guidance to the wider HUK Finance community and other interested parties (e.g. Supply Chain Hub UK VAT- EHQ UK Stat reporting- GBS)
• Completion of the statutory accounts for the 10 legal entities- including conversion of trial balance from US to FRS 102 with a thorough understanding of all accounting differences. Leading all aspects of the audit
• Supervising the completion and submission of the VAT returns & own all VAT related issues
• Supporting and overseeing the activities of the Financial Reporting Team – driving efficiencies- process improvements & issue resolution
• Partnering with the business on all accounting issues – sharing technical expertise- researching issues- driving new requirements
• Working with the Compliance team to ensure a sound internal control environment
• Liaising with service providers & re pension items – own accounting aspects
• You know how to bring multiple projects to a successful ending within the given timeframe.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• You’re organized- structured and always have an overview of all the deliverables.
• Relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc.)
• Experience in driving the Monthly Close Process
• Experience of preparing Statutory accounts from Trial Balance under FRS102
• Up to date knowledge of FRS102 (and preferably US GAAP)
• Ability to apply accounting theory to the commercial environment & can research and guide others
