Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working Receptionist to work within the existing Reception team who provide efficient and effective reception services in the Pain Management Centre Outpatient Department.
Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources. The position is for 37.5 hours per week, working across 5 days Monday-Friday.

  • Answering and dealing with telephone queries, both internal and external, patients , GP'S.
  • Booking, rescheduling and preparation of patient’s appointments and clinic notes.
  • Filing, ad hoc request from clinicians/ patients.
  • Ensuring a smooth running and welcoming reception, adhering to local and Trust policies and procedure.

  • Responsible for outpatient’s reception, dealing with telephone, in person enquires.
  • Booking and rescheduling outpatient’s appointments, preparing patient notes, awareness of the Thrust 18 week pathway policy.
  • Providing a calming, efficient service to all internal and external contacts.
  • Working with in and part of a team, ability to communicate efficiently at all levels.
  • Flexibility with work duties and hours if required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The post holder has responsibility for the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient reception and booking service for patients and members of the department.
  • You should have previous clerical/administrational experience, a good standard of education and IT skills. Excellent prioritization and organization skills are essential.
