Job Description

You will be responsible for the hotel accounting and financial controls under your area of responsibility, with functional guidance from the Financial Controller. Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures as outlined in the Hotel operation manual, corporate policies, and procedures. In addition, the job incumbent controls the overall cash flow by managing the credit and payables functions. The incumbent should be proactive, analyzing, and recommending alternative action in every respect, and operate in line with hotel and corporate policies and guidelines, and the hotel’s business plan to protect the business from risk of bad debt or poor credit rating.

Your key areas responsibility will include:

  • Maximizes cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances
  • Enforces, documents and establishes adequate controls for all revenues and expenses and protection of assets, and ensures controls will satisfy or improve the level of guest service
  • Maintains accurate and timely financial and operating information and provides analyzes, interpretations and projections to management as required
  • Conducts monthly inspections and tests to ensure all departments are complying with required procedures

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We are looking for an energetic and highly motivated individual with proven experience within the hotel industry. The successfully recruited Assistant Financial Controller will have had previous experience within the same capacity role.

You must be self-motivated and be an inspirational leader, who believes in delivering the best possible standards in guest service, continually leading your team by example. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, have excellent communication skills. You must be results driven, be able to motivate the team during pressured times, be confident cares about providing excellent service to our guests and who can use their intuition and creativity to deliver a wondrous experience for everyone. Has an excellent customer focus, organization and methodical approach is paramount with this role in order for the team and hotel to be successful. Experience within a similar environment is preferable.
